Shanghai Adventures

Shanghai!

Make that another country that we had visited together.

My goddaughter and her family had relocated there about a year ago, and just last month, she got confirmed and made sure that I made it to Shanghai for it. She literally bugged her mum for months to make sure we knew the date and that we booked and confirmed our flight.

We made it there, and took a couple of days off from our schedules to do a bit of the touristy things in Shanghai. It was Mel’s first time there and I have not been back to Shanghai since I left the airlines so it was great be able to have a “real” visit. We also managed to visit the World Expo 2010 which happened to be in Shanghai this year.

Here’s a glimpse of the great time we had, spending time with family, eating, sightseeing, and of course, shopping.

A nice cool walk at Xin Tian Di after dinner.

The queue that was already there for the ferry when we got there at 8am.

The four of us who dared to brave the crowds at the Expo.

View along the Huang Pu River.

Another view, but this time, of the China pavilion on the left.

First stop…. The France Pavilion.

Next, was the Greece Pavilion. This was just before we sat down for lunch.

Then, we headed to the top of Denmark.

Then our last stop, we just had to pay our homage to our homeland.

At the top of the Singapore Pavilion, sky garden, filled with Vanda Miss Joaquims.

Now, if you are wondering why we didn’t head to the other Pavilions, well, most of them had queues like this and had a minimum wait of 5 hrs!

We also made it to the top of the Shanghai World Financial Center Observatory. Which is also the world’s highest observatory at 477.96m.

So that was our trip to Shanghai in a nutshell.

Now I am just wondering where our next destination is going to be…..
