(yet another backdated post)
Well, like they always say, better late than never. (whoever came up with that saying must have always been late)
Anyway, on the 14th of August, a very special event happened at the Padang, and if you were there to witness it, you were a part of something really exciting and special! It was the one year countdown to the Youth Olympic Games to be held right here at the Lion City.
The Celebrities Sports Club were invited to partake in this extremely unique event and we gladly accepted. We sent in 2 teams, one for football and one for basketball. The football game was a five on five while the basketball game was a 3 on 3 game (the same format that they will play in the YOG.
The football team didn’t do as well as the basketball team who just happened to come out tops! All the games were played in good spirits and the important thing is we all had fun and had a great time being a part of this very special event.
There were booths where you could try the various sports that will be played in the YOG and also booths from the various sponsors, but the highlight of the whole evening was the revealing of the countdown clock as well as the fireworks that followed. There was a also various performances that include my good friends Jack and Rai as well as dancers and drummers.
