I Got New Shoes

I just collected my new pair of Mi Adidas Adizeros and can I just say that they came out better than I expected.

The best thing about the shoes are that they are made just for me and customized exactly to the size of each of my feet, to the colors that I like, and most importantly, to my running style.

It also got me thinking about when I got my first pair of “customized” shoes.  Actually, they were football boots, and I really couldn’t afford to pay for a customized pair like David Beckham.  You know, when he put his children’s names on his boots and all?  Well, I tried to do the same, and this was what came out of my attempt.  I do have to say that, when Mel saw them, she melted. They were a pair of Predators which I still have to this day.

I then started thinking about all the other Mi Adidas shoes that I have and dug them all out.  One pair, just cannot be saved because they were my first genuine pair of Mi Adidas shoes, and I loved them to death, literally.  I had to recently part with them because I used them so much that they died.

But! I did find a pair of Mi Adidas Supernovas (I think).  I decided to go against the norm and got this one in mostly black. Loved it too and am quite surprised that they lasted this long.  Take a look.

Of course, I do take care of my shoes and I recently gave all of them a good clean, so that’s why they look so “pristine”.

Then, how can I forget the pair of Mi Adidas shoes that accompanied me on many a training run in my lead up to my first full marathon as well as the pair of shoes that helped me complete that full marathon, (you can read that post here).  That was really important because they were made for my feet and the measurements were so exact, I didn’t suffer from any blisters or dreaded black toes.  Behold, the Mi Adidas Supernova Sequence!

Oh! and they match my shades as well… check out my post race report and you’ll see! And here is what’s written about the Supernova Sequence:

Weight 12.2 oz.

ForMotion adapts to the ground for improved handling and stability during high-speed maeuvering

NoSeam in the upper provides a sock-like fit without irritating seams; GeoFit heel and collar provides a supportive and comfortable fit

adiPRENE+ in the forefoot maintains propulsion and efficiency; TORSION SYSTEM for midfoot integrity

LightStrike 55 last for lightweight comfort and soft feel

adiWEAR outsole offers the ultimate in high-wear durability

Then, I remembered that I had a pair of Mi Adidas Adipure football boots that I got done way back in July last year. these boots were made of the softest kangaroo leather and didn’t need any breaking in.  Used them for a full game the first time I wore them and didn’t have single blister.  Really comfy if I do say so myself.

Here’s a bit more about the Mi Adipure:

Welded 3-Stripes

K-Leather for durability, lightness, glove-like fit

Asymmetrical loop lacing for better ball contact

Anatomically moulded EVA insole for comfort

TRAXION FG for grip and comfort on firm natural surfaces

TPU plate for lightweight performance & durability

Which brings me back to my newest pair of running shoes, which I think deserve to be brought out for a test run soon (and I mean really soon).  Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, the lightest training shoe that I have in my shoe cupboard today. The Mi Adizero, and here is how it is described in the website “Lean and nimble, the streamlined flat soled adizero is built for speed. Lighter and more comfortable than ever, it is enhanced with climate-managing materials” Check it out!

Seriously, don’t take my word for it, go check it out and get yourself a pair.  I do believe that you can have one done either in the Cathay store or the Vivocity store but you might want to call first to check if they have a slot for you to have your customization done.  Yes, they take it THAT seriously.
