The Magic Is Stirring Within

Am I the only one excited about the opening of the 6th Installment of the Harry Potter franchise?

I am so excited that I have taken to watching all the previous 5 movies and reading up on the last 3 books to get myself ready to watch “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince”.  Reading the book reminded me of how much I actually dreaded this particular one, but, being the closet fan that I was, I just couldn’t wait to actually see how they were going to shoot certain scenes from the book for the movie.

I still remember the first time I was introduced to the “boy who lived”.  If I remember correctly, I was in London at the time and had walked into a bookstore.  There was a big hullabaloo going on so I stopped one of the staff working there and asked what was going on.

R:  Err, excuse me, what is going on?

G:  Don’t you know? J. K. Rowling is coming to the store for a book signing.

R:  What book?

G:  Harry Potter.

R:  “puzzled look”

G:  You mean you haven’t heard of Harry Potter?  Where have you been?

R:  Errrrrr….

G:  You are in luck, we have some stock that just came in.

I walked out of the bookshop with 3 books after being told that I need to read the first two before I started on book 3.  I never got to meet the literary genius who wrote the books because 1. there was just too many people and 2.  I couldn’t wait to start on the books.

That was the start of my love affair with the HP Franchise.  I never looked back.  Fast forward to today…. here I am, dizzy with excitement for the release of the movie in two days time.  Are you as excited as I am?

  1. Ah, I am glad I am not the only fanatical adult around. I did the same thing too, prior to the movie itself. Have you watched it? How did you find it?

Yes I have watched it already.
I liked it and am actually planning to catch it again. (which is what I usually do)
It was darker than I actually thot it would be but then again, after the last one, I was not that surprised.
good conversion from book to screen.

  2. The last movie actually caught me by surprise, with its dark undertone which might be too much for young children (?). Then again it followed how the books developed. I liked the movie; a little disappointed though (maybe because the best bits are in the trailers already) and it gets kinda draggy. Less emotional than I thought it would be… and way too much focus on the blossoming love between the characters.

Ah… I remember the time I watched Sorcerer’s Stone in cinema for 12 times… and many more on DVDs that I care to remember 😛
