Well, ever since my last post, I managed to catch a couple of movies in the theatres as well as on DVD from your friendly neighbourhood video rental shop.
I caught “Watchmen” on a triple date yesterday. We all met up for dinner which was hurriedly followed by the almost 3 hr long movie. I guess it was ok. I went in with no expectations and so came out feeling that although it was a bit draggy and the blue guy’s you-know-what kept staring me in my face throughout the whole movie, it was actually quite ok overall.
Then today, Mel and I caught “Race To Witch Mountain”. The guy who attended to me when I got my tickets told me that the movie was “A Great Movie” and that I would “Love it”. And of course, I heard nothing but good things about it. So when we were deciding on which movie to watch last night, I kinda insisted that we watched this one.
Now, the moral of the story is, you really should not have to high an expectation before you go in and see a movie you have absolutely no idea about. I am saying it was bad, I just feel that maybe my expectations were a tad too high. It was ok and the I feel that Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock was slowly but surely getting better as an actor. (But then again, who am I to judge)
Some of the DVD movies that we caught were “Stop Loss” (Damn Good), “Big Stan” (Ok lah), “Beethovan’s Big Break” (A remake of the original, and I preferred the original one), “Death Race” (also a remake, I thought this one was also ok), “Take the Lead” (older movie, but always good watching a feel-good movie), and “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” (which both Mel and I enjoyed very much).
I just want to stress that these are my own personal point of views. Go and watch/rent the movies on your own accord. Who knows, you might find your opinion totally different from mine. I have weird taste in movies, so good luck. haha.
I have also been cooking quite a bit, and I must remind myself to take some pictures of the dishes when I am done. I don’t know, I am sometimes so excited to try it out, that I just forget…. maybe next time.
So until my “next time”, hope you having a great week so far.
