Monday Ride

I finally managed to get Fenix out of the house today for a ride with a C who just got his bike a couple of weeks ago.

Before I left home, it did seem that it was going to pour but I went nevertheless.  Got to the east and we were still adamant on bringing the rides out for a spin.  Got the gear on and off we went.  The weather held until we got to Changi Coastal Road.

Like C said, it really looked like a scene from Twister.  The leaves were flying almost horizontally, the skies were very very dark and there was a strong wind blowing.  We stepped on the gas and managed to only just get to Changi Village without getting soaked to the skin.

So, since we were stuck there anyway, we decided to fill our tum tums. But the rain just kept on falling and we REALLY filled our stomachs.  After some wonton mee,  chwee kuey, goreng pisang, chempedak, sugarcane juice, tea, coffee and pineapple drink (the kind you used to find in your school tuckshop) and two hours later, we just decided to brave the drizzle to get ourselves home.

Good thing we pushed the pace on the way back so I do suppose we managed to burn off all that we consumed in that two hours.  I know I know, what is the point in riding so much if we were going to stuff our faces right?  But we really had nothing else to do while we waited for the rain to stop.  Seriously…. here’s the proof!
