In Memory Of….

It is with a heavy heart that I write this entry.

I may not have been as close to him as my mother was, but he was the family dog and was a part of our family for quite a number of years.

I did give him a lot of flak because I never really did think he was a “manly” dog and he did sometimes irritate us with his continuous running round and round the table, but he was a very good natured dog who was always wagging his tail and always seemed to be a very happy dog.

A couple of days ago when I visited my parents and saw the state that he was in, I told my folks to just bring him to the vet, just to check what was wrong with him.  I got the message from my mum today at 11.51 am that they had just put him down…. my heart just dropped.  I called her straightaway and found out that he had a couple of cancerous growths in the stomach and it was too late to save him.

I didn’t get to say goodbye to him, but I am sure that he is in a much better place.  I will miss you and I will definitely miss babysitting you when mummy and pa are away.  Goodbye you silly smelly dog!

I know I’m very backdated with this comment for this entry… Anyhoo… Just wanted to say that even though you don’t live with the dog etc, they just have that effect on you. Its just something that’s in their DNA I guess…

We had to put our GR down last April and soon it’ll be one year. I didn’t get to say goodbye either and just cried uncontrollable buckets at work and every time I think of him yes, I miss him terribly.

Thank you for your tribute to Ginger Dog… Animals make the world a better place…
