Today was supposed to be the last road show for Kallang Roar The Movie. It was aptly called The Kallang Roar Futsal Fiesta.
On my way there, I noticed that the weather was nice, hot and shiny and I thought to myself, “Hey! It was going to be a fun day out.” All that plus the fact that I was going to get to play a bit of football…. (In case you didn’t know, there was going to be a veterans vs. cast game).
I got and just when I was supposed to start the show, it started drizzling. I looked up to the heavens and hoped that these were just passing clouds. Boy! was I wrong or what????!!!! After the first performance and the first game between two of our sponsors, the skies opened up and there was just no turning back from that.
Eventually, the show had to be cancelled and you could just see the disappointment on the faces of all involved that the rest of the show was not going to happen.
On the flip side, Mel and I got some time to have a very early dinner, do some grocery shopping and head back in time for the closing ceremony, F1 race and football. How’s that for good timing….
I would like to end this post by saying that I think the recent Beijing Olympics really showed the westerners a thing or two about hosting a major games like this…. Well done China!
